15.7 year old (16 on august 5) wants to find summer job?

where can i start looking. ive asked around and no luck. internet doesnt seem to help. im looking for theatre and or clerical work. preferably clerical work is at a computer. whre can i find help with this, my school isnt doing anything for me

Mikey answers:

It really depends on the state you are in, as all the labor laws are different. Try small places, like Cold Stone Creamery (if you have that). I know they hire kids that are 14 and older.

You HAVE to get your school to give you the okay to work (good grades are a must).

Linda asks…

What are some summer job ideas for a 15-year-old?

I am fifteen years old, and I am trying to find a job for this summer. So, I need some ideas. I have looked at some stores, but most of them require a minimum age of 16. ): I will not be turning 16 until September.
I’ve only found one job opportunity, at Hot Topic. I would love that job, but I still need some back up ideas. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you! :)

How to find a summer job?

i’m 15 and need a job in the summer, i need to pay for my car, school stuff, etc. any advice on how to make finding one easier?

Mikey answers:

Any work you do and earn money is a JOB.
Your options are limited. Most businesses want you to be 16 to hire you for gainful employment.

Time to be inventive,
My suggestions to you:

Make up fliers and pass them around in your neighborhood.
Offer to do whatever work it is you want to do, such as :

Computer work, Babysit, Clean Garages, Organize Cupboards, File Papers, Wash Cars, Mow Lawns, Pull Weeds, Tutor the neighbors kids, wash Dogs, Dog sit, Clean the Pool, Assist the elderly, whatever…

Post first whatever it is you want to do or are good at …
However, You should keep your options open and make a decision after the persons call you instead of not giving them many reasons to call.

Your neighbors who might hire you do not have to be residents, they might be local businesses that need a little job done. Do not be afraid to ask and apply. You won’t get a job if you don’t try.

How to find a summer job?

What’s the best way to find a summer job? I’m willing to do just about anything, but surfing job sites has generally only found full-time positions, not summer or part time jobs. Anyone have any advice on the best way to find a summer job?

Also, I know I’m a little late in starting… I didn’t know I needed one until now.
Also – I’m 16, have good people skills, am in good physical shape, and am taking the hardest classes my school has to offer and excelling in them.

Mikey answers:
