Your Questions About Finding A Summer Job

Carol asks…

Looking for a summer job that involves alot of physical activity?

Okay so I currently live in north california and I want to find a summer job in south california. I want to be able to go to somewhere where I can stay the night also and work. I tried summer camps but I cant find any of them. Does anyone have any suggestions about where I can apply for jobs in south california with place to stay over night? The closer to the beach the better. Thankyou very much

Mikey answers:

The only job that would provide room and board for employees would be a sleepover summer camp. Many of those jobs have likely all been filled for this summer for a couple of months now, but you should still ask just in case there are openings. My son was asked to be a junior camp counselor (unpaid) by the camps he went to and they were finished hiring in March.

Volunteer (unpaid) junior camp counselors are generally entering 10th or 11th grade. Paid assistant camp counselors are generally entering 12th grade or their first year of college. Paid camp counselors are generally 19+ years old, already in college, or a college grad.

You might try Pali Overnight Adventures, it’s a really great camp:

Here is where you can find camps:

http://find.acacamps.org/finding_a_camp.php

http://www.daycampjobs.com/ (Day camps generally do not provide room & board.)
Google: resident summer camp jobs

Good luck!

Is it possible for a motivated french boy to find an interesting summer job in London?

Hi,
I’m French, I’ve just turned 18 and I’d like to find a summer job in London for this summer.
i’ve been twice to the US and about 8 times in England; all my trips were fairly short (except 1 month and a half in Philadelphia)
and my English is not bad, at least as good to be able to understand everything and to be understood without any
trouble.
During my trip in Philadelphia, I worked in a summer-camp and it was great to work with kids.
I come to London from june,28 to july,30 and everyone told me most of the jobs available in summer are in restaurants
and pubs. I’d like to work in as well, but do you know whether there are other job-offers?
Thank you for you answers

Mikey answers:

IT is NOT illegal to work in the UK, since both nations are part of the EU.

I hear there’s good work down the docks

Mikey answers:

It is always possible to find a job in London. There are plenty of temp. Agencies who should be able to find you something.

Staying in London is expensive but there are lots of student hotels around which are very basic – though noisy but if you’re only 18, you could well meet lots of young people doing the same thing as you. Try looking up student hotels in London on the net and see what comes up.

Good luck – go for it!

Your Questions About Finding A Summer Job

Richard asks…

how can i find a summer job for a teenager?

I live in Raymore, MO and I just turned 17 in March.
I would like a job just for in the summer that is for teenagers.
I don’t want to work at a grocery store, or restaurant. I would like to work somewhere fun.

I was thinking about volunteering at a daycare, but I need babysitting classes first. Would anybody know where I could take those at?

If not, then any suggestions of a fun work place would be appreciated. Thanks!

Mikey answers:

Talk to the guidance office at their school.
They’ll probably have to get a work permit, anyways.

Good luck!

You can become a male escort if you are good with people and are attractive… Post yourself on the internet and charge around $200 an hour or $1100 a night… It’s allot easier if you are gay but I’m straight and I get $1100 a night and I only have women as clients… And women love frenchmen =)

Where can i find summer jobs online?

Im still 14 but i want to have a job online to help my parents financially.

Mikey answers:

Tutoring online, its real but you have to actually put some time and effort into it, they pay through paypal every 30 days- I make anywhere from $40 to $100 a day and I work 4 hours a day. Stick to subjects you understand, I write a lot of essays. Heres the website address.
