Chris asks…
Where can a 14 year old find a summer job?
I am 14 and am saving up for a Mac. I live in Lake Oswego, OR and need to know what stores will hire me. I live near a jamba juice, a few convienince stores, some small grocery stores and some big corporate grocery stores like Albertsons and hole Foods. What companies hire 14 year olds? I need to make a good amount of money and only want to work for the summer. How much does the average bagger at a grocery store make?
Thanks
Mikey answers:
14 is a bit young to be hired by a company. Maybe you could tutor students in lower grades in a subject you’re good in. You could also pet sit, do yard work, run errands for the busy or elderly.

David asks…
Is it impossible to find a summer job with this availability…?
I’m trying to find a part-time summer job. I have already taken a babysitting job on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30-1:45 for all of June.
Plus, my family is going on vacations for 2 separate weeks. Will this make it impossible for me to get a job, or will some places be flexible?
Thanks!
Mikey answers:
Most fast food places would accommodate your hours. They would be happy to hire people who can do weekends and evenings. Good luck………Ginger

Donald asks…
What would be a good place for a 16 year old to find a job during the summer?
I’m looking for a summer job. I’m only 16 years old. What is there to do for someone my age besides being a counsler at a camp?
Mikey answers:
I would look at all of your local plant nursery’s and landscaping companies. They always higher on a teen or two through the summer. You get to be in the sun outside and usually it is just taking care of the nursery by watering all the tree’s and plants or moving them from location to location and helping the other employee’s load the trailers and or trucks before they head out to the job site. That and keeping the place clean and tidy and typically you will make decent money for being only 16

George asks…
I was wondering If there were any websites that would help my 16 year old son find a summer job in california?
Summer Youth Job website ?
Mikey answers:
Below are websites that list local job postings:
Also, these websites can help him with his resume, cover letter, and interview:
Your local job council may be able to help as well; sometimes, they even have great programs that both train & pay teens.
Hope I helped, and best of luck!
